TFmini-S ToF Single-Point Ranging Solid State LiDAR Sensor (12m, UART / I2C)

The TFmini-S is a compact, unidirectional laser range LiDAR based on time-of-flight technology, leveraging special optical and electronic devices. This cutting-edge device integrates an adaptive algorithm that functions seamlessly in both indoor and outdoor environments. Despite its small size, it offers high performance in distance measurement, making it an ideal choice for a variety of applications.

The TFmini-S measures just 42x15x16mm and weighs a mere 5g, enabling effortless integration into small-scale projects. Its miniature size doesn't compromise its capabilities, as it delivers robust performance typical of larger systems. Whether installed on drones or incorporated into mobile platforms, it performs with remarkable efficiency and precision.

Enhanced from its predecessor, the TFmini, this Upgraded ToF Single-Point LiDAR minimizes the blind zone to just 10cm. It excels under various lighting conditions with no fear of ambient light interference. Supporting up to 1000Hz output, its versatility is amplified by UART and I²C communication interfaces that are switchable at any time, ensuring seamless connectivity.

The TFmini-S LiDAR sensor adopts UART (TTL) and I2C communication interfaces and uses a standard 5V power supply. With an average power consumption of just 0.6W, it's energy-efficient and compatible with various controllers, such as Arduino. Pair it with the DFRobot Gravity IO Expansion Shield to plug it directly into an Arduino without additional wiring. This ease of integration makes it perfectly suited for developers working with the DFRobot Arduino library.

Capable of detecting up to 12 meters with a narrow FOV of 2 degrees, its strong anti-interference capabilities allow it to function effectively even in outdoor lighting conditions. However, note its limitations when dealing with objects featuring high reflectivity or transparent materials such as glasses and water, as these might affect its measurement accuracy.
