Pololu Tamiya 72005 6-Speed Gearbox Kit

The Tamiya 72005 6-speed gearbox offers a high-efficiency solution with multiple gear ratios: 11.6:1, 29.8:1, 76.5:1, 196.7:1, 505.9:1, and 1300.9:1. Its adaptable design ensures compatibility with various applications, and a clutch gear safeguards the mechanism in high-gear-ratio settings, preventing damage if the output shaft encounters resistance.

This gearbox is ideal for robotics and engineering projects, providing flexibility in speed and torque customization. With its low-voltage motors operating between 1.5 to 4.5 volts and capable of drawing a few amps, it pairs well with the DRV8833 motor driver carrier. To prevent motor overheating, it's advisable to use stall-detection sensors or monitor the device to avoid prolonged stalling.

The gearbox features a 4 mm diameter round output shaft, compatible with wheels designed for Tamiya 4 mm round shafts. Additionally, a 3 mm universal mounting hub can fit the smaller threaded end of the shaft, though caution is advised as the hub's set screw might damage the thread.
