The WiFi IR Blaster is built around the ESP8266, a robust WiFi/microcontroller SoC, coupled with IR emitters and receivers. With its built-in WiFi support, the ESP8266 can be programmed to establish an interface between HTTP, MQTT, TCP, and IR-controlled devices. The module comes equipped with a crystal, 4MB flash, and a PCB antenna for optimal performance. Please note that the antenna is located under the SparkFun logo on the board, so avoid placing anything that may interfere with WiFi signals in that area.
The IR emitter and detector components come with the board but are not pre-soldered. This allows you the flexibility to solder the components at any angle that your project necessitates. It also provides the option to customize the board and choose your own emitter and/or receiver. Therefore, some soldering skills will be required to get the WiFi IR Blaster up and running.
The package includes one SparkFun WiFi IR Blaster, one LTE-302 IR Emitter, and one TSOP382 IR Detector.
