The kit comes with a MicroHDMI to HDMI cable and a USB Type C Wall Adapter, essential components that may not be readily available at home. The USB Type C Wall Adapter provides 15.3W of power, sufficient to power the Pi and most projects. The Raspberry Pi 4 has made the switch to a MicroHDMI Connector for monitors and a USB Type C connector for power supply, both of which are catered for in this kit.
Notably, the kit includes a 64GB MicroSD card, a significant upgrade from previous kits. The Raspberry Pi 4 can support more memory-intensive projects, and this larger capacity card is ideal for such applications. The card is blank, allowing you to choose from a variety of operating systems or projects specifically designed for the Pi. An SD card adapter is also included, making it easy to upload your chosen operating system using the SD card reader found in most modern PCs and laptops.
The kit also features the Qwiic Shim for Raspberry Pi, a quick and efficient way to use I2C devices with the Raspberry Pi. If you're already familiar with the Raspberry Pi environment and are planning to upgrade to the Pi 4, this kit is an ideal choice. However, if your project is particularly power-hungry, such as running multiple displays simultaneously, it is recommended to also acquire a Heat Sink Case from the Hookup Accessories section.
Note: This version of the Raspberry Pi 4 Basic Kit does not include a Raspberry Pi in any form. This will need to be purchased separately.
