The SparkFun Qwiic dToF TMF8820 Imager makes it easy to get accurate readings, with all communication carried out exclusively via I2C, using the convenient Qwiic system. This means there's no need for soldering to connect it to your system. The TMF8820 features two configurable GPIO pins and one enable (EN) pin, all of which are broken out as PTH pads. The board includes a power LED and I2C pull-up resistors, each of which can be configured via jumpers. This version has a footprint that uses the Qwiic Standard size (2.54cm x 2.54cm).
The SparkFun Qwiic dToF TMF8820 Imager is ideal for a variety of applications, including distance measurement for camera autofocus in mobile phones (Laser Detect Autofocus - LDAF), presence detection in computing and communication systems, object detection and collision avoidance in robotics, and light curtain applications in industrial settings. It is classified as a CLASS 1 LASER PRODUCT according to IEC 60825-1 2014.
The SparkFun Qwiic Connect System is a comprehensive ecosystem of I2C sensors, actuators, shields, and cables designed to make prototyping faster and less error-prone. All Qwiic-enabled boards use a common 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector, which minimizes the amount of required PCB space and ensures correct connections thanks to its polarized design.
