The OpenLog Artemis (without IMU), also known as "OLA," is a versatile open-source data logger. It comes preprogrammed to automatically log IMU, GPS, serial data, and various pressure, humidity, and distance sensors. OLA is designed for users who need to capture a lot of data to a CSV for their larger project. It automatically detects, configures, and logs Qwiic sensors plugged into the board, requiring no soldering or programming. The OpenLog Artemis is highly configurable over an easy-to-use serial interface. The logging output is automatically streamed to both the terminal and the microSD.
The Qwiic GPS is a high-quality GPS board with impressive configuration options. The SAM-M8Q is a 72-channel GNSS receiver, which can receive signals from the GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo constellations. This increases precision and decreases lock time. Thanks to the on-board rechargeable battery, the GPS can get a hot lock within seconds!
The SparkFun Qwiic Scale is a small breakout board for the NAU7802 that allows you to easily read load cells to accurately measure the weight of an object. By connecting the board to your microcontroller, you will be able to read the changes in the resistance of a load cell and, with some calibration, achieve very accurate weight measurements.
The SparkFun Qwiic High Precision Temperature breakout is a high precision temperature sensor equipped with an I2C interface. It outputs temperature readings with high precision of ±0.1°C across the temperature range of -20°C to +50°Cs with no calibration and a maximum range from -55°C to 150°C. The SparkFun High Precision Temperature Sensor also has a very low power consumption rate which minimizes the impact of self-heating on measurement accuracy.
Note: This kit does not include a load cell. Please check SparkFun's current offerings to find a suitable load cell.
The version of the OpenLog Artemis included in this kit has the ICM-20948 IMU sensor removed. This IC is becoming increasingly difficult to locate. This version still supports auto-detection and logging of over a dozen sensors and GNSS receivers.
The SparkFun Qwiic connect system is an ecosystem of I2C sensors, actuators, shields, and cables that make prototyping faster and less prone to error. All Qwiic-enabled boards use a common 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector. This reduces the amount of required PCB space, and polarized connections mean you can’t hook it up wrong.
