The SparkFun TMAG5273 Qwiic Mini Linear 3D Hall-Effect Sensor is a compact, efficient magnetic field sensor that measures the presence, strength, and direction of magnetic fields in three dimensions. Ideal for applications like magnetic proximity detection, door and window sensing, and mobile rotor control, this sensor is housed in a mini 1.27 cm x 2.54 cm Qwiic breakout board.

With a configurable linear magnetic range of ±40 mT or ±80 mT, the TMAG5273 from Texas Instruments integrates an angle calculation engine (CORDIC) with gain and offset adjustments. It also features magnetic tamper detection and configurable wake-up/threshold settings, which can trigger interrupts via the I2C interface or a dedicated interrupt pin.

Boasting a low power consumption rate of 2.3mA in Active Mode (1µA in sleep mode) and a high precision of ±0.5% typical accuracy, this sensor includes a built-in temperature sensor. It's an economical choice for projects requiring a low-power, high-precision magnetic field sensor.

The sensor communicates via I2C, with all necessary pins broken out to the Qwiic system, eliminating the need for soldering. This board also features a Qwiic Mini footprint, providing more project space and flexibility. For those who prefer traditional connections, the I2C pins are also available on standard 2.54mm-spaced pins.


The SparkFun Qwiic Connect System is an ecosystem of I2C sensors, actuators, shields, and cables designed to accelerate prototyping and reduce errors. All Qwiic-enabled boards use a common 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector, minimizing PCB space and preventing incorrect connections.
