The TLC5940 breakout is perfect for projects that require a large number of PWM drivers. It can be used to increase the number of PWM pins available to your microcontroller, making it ideal for applications such as Monocolor, Multicolor or Full-Color LED Displays, LED Signboards, Display Backlighting, and Servo control.
Note that while each 3-pin PWM header is spaced at 2.54mm, the space between each header has been slightly increased to accommodate servo connections. To make this board suitable for use with servos, 2.2k pull-up resistors are included on each output. The 2.2k resistor on the Iref pin sets the output current to 17.8mA, but a parallel through-hole connection is provided for an additional resistor, allowing you to increase the current if necessary. The required resistor value for a given output can be found in the equations provided on the schematic.
