The full-size buck regulator breakout offers various options for connecting input and output power. A pre-assembled screw terminal enables non-permanent connections, while a barrel jack can be soldered on for an external power supply. Additionally, five PTH pins are available for creating a more permanent installation. The board features a power indication LED that lights up when the power output is enabled and includes four mounting holes compatible with 4-40 hardware.
The buck board features include a 2.54cm x 2.54cm PCB layout, three power input/output options, power connections for VIN - Power In (3.9V to 5.5V), GND - Common Ground, VOUT - Power Out (Regulated 3.3V), EN - Enable (Pull high to enable the power output), a red power LED indicator, and a 1.27cm x 1.52cm plated copper pad for heat sinks.
The AP3429A features include VIN: 2.7V to 5.5V, VOUT: 0.6V to VIN, 2A Continuous Output Current, 90µA No-Load Quiescent Current, 1MHz Switching Frequency, and protection circuitry such as Undervoltage Lockout (UVLO), Input Overvoltage Protection, Over Current Protection with Cycle-by-Cycle Peak Current Limit, and Thermal Shutdown (160°C/320°F).
For further information and guidance, various documents are available including the schematic, Eagle Files, board dimensions, hookup guide, datasheet for the AP3429A, AP3428 Application Note, Manufacturer's Product Page for the AP3429A with technical documentation, Diodes Technical Support Page, and the GitHub Hardware Repo.
