The centerpiece of this kit is the FS3000-1005, a surface-mount air velocity module from Renesas. It can measure air velocity from 0 to 7.2m/s with a 12-bit resolution digital output. The sensor uses MEMS thermopile technology and features a silicon carbide coating for protection against abrasive wear and water condensation. The solid thermal isolation technology ensures accurate readings under varying conditions.
The kit also includes a SparkFun RedBoard Artemis Nano, a flexible Qwiic Cable measuring 100mm, and a reversible USB-A to C cable. This combination of components allows for a wide range of applications and easy integration into your projects.
SparkFun has made it even easier to get started with an Arduino library for the Air Velocity Sensor. Simply search 'SparkFun Air Velocity' in the Arduino library manager to download and install it.
The SparkFun Qwiic Connect System is a comprehensive ecosystem of I2C sensors, actuators, shields, and cables designed for easy prototyping and reduced errors. All Qwiic-enabled boards use a 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector, which saves PCB space and ensures correct connections with its polarized design.
The Qwiic Air Velocity Sensor Kit includes:
