The Solar Panel Charger - 10W by Sparkfun is a lightweight, ultra-thin (2mm), and affordable power solution for your projects. It harnesses the power of the sun to provide free, renewable energy. The panel is equipped with a 5V USB connection port and can generate 10 watts in the open sun, with a peak power output of around 6V at 1700mA.

The Solar Panel Charger is made of monocrystalline silicon, which ensures a high photoelectric conversion rate of 20%. It features a frosted surface for scratch resistance and durability. The panel is also sealed with a water-resistant epoxy resin, making it suitable for outdoor use. It's slightly flexible and considerably lighter than traditional glass-based panels, making it perfect for temporary or permanent installations. However, for permanent installations, it's important to note that the DC buck on the back of the panel is not fully waterproof. Therefore, it is recommended to mount the panel with the connector pointed downwards to ensure its longevity outdoors.
