Pimoroni RGB Encoder Breakout

Add a colorful light-up dial and spin your Raspberry Pi project right round! This I2C breakout features a clever Nuvoton microcontroller, allowing you to easily integrate a digital rotary encoder. Directly control the RGB LED within the encoder for a color-coded visual status, suitable for tasks like LED lighting control or synth wave generation. The encoder offers smooth, clicky action and infinite range, making it ideal for continuous dials.

Attach it to your Pi’s GPIO directly, via a breadboard, or use it with the solderless Breakout Garden for versatility. This breakout includes:

• Nuvoton MS51 microcontroller with 12-bit Analog to Digital Converter.
• Rotary encoder with RGB LED controllable by PWM.
• I2C interface, default address 0x0F, 3V to 5V compatibility.
• Reverse polarity protection and Raspberry Pi-compatible pinout.
• Compatible with Python, C++, and MicroPython libraries.

The kit includes a pre-assembled RGB Encoder Breakout, 1x5 straight male header, and 1x5 right angle female header. Solder the included right angle female header for direct GPIO connection to Raspberry Pi (pins 1, 3, 5, 7, 9).
