The Pocket AVR Programmer is particularly effective for ATmega168 and ATmega328 and is compatible with all AVR micros supported by AVRDUDE. The microcontroller that can be programmed can be any AVR with 64K or less of flash. It works perfectly with the ATmega328 on an Arduino Uno or RedBoard, however, it does not support the ATmega2560 of an Arduino Mega.
One of the standout features of the Pocket AVR Programmer is its robustness. The board is buffered and power protected, allowing you to push its limits without damaging it. It also boasts impressive speed. Another notable feature is its ability to power the target (up to 500mA) from the programmer itself.
The Pocket AVR Programmer is a collaborative product with Limor Fried, with a portion of each sale going back to them for product support and continued development. The drivers link for the product has been updated to be compatible with Windows 7.
