This 2-DOF pan-tilt hat is an advanced accessory for Raspberry Pi and Jetson Nano, allowing seamless control of camera movement and light intensity detection through I2C interface, using only two signal lines. The module features an on-board PCA9685 chip, providing 12-bit resolution PWM output for precise pan-tilt rotation, enabling accurate monitoring or tracking when paired with a compatible camera.
The integrated TSL25911FN and built-in ADC enhance the module's response to light, making performance akin to human visual perception, while the voltage level translators ensure compatibility with 3.3V/5V operating levels. The design includes an acrylic board for securing the Raspberry Pi camera, adding stability and ease of use.
Real-world tests have confirmed compatibility with all Raspberry Pi models except Raspberry Pi 400, Pico, and Compute Module 4, and demonstrated smooth operation with the Jetson Nano. This versatile module supports both horizontal and vertical motion, making it ideal for image recognition projects or when combined with sensors like IR or ultrasonic for obstacle detection, creating an interactive environment.
Note: The Pan-Tilt HAT is unassembled. Assembly is required, and Raspberry Pi board and camera are not included.
