The Blue Octagon Chassis serves as an exceptional robot body designed for easy machining and versatile modifications. Crafted from a single piece of robust 4mm thick plastic, it features various pre-drilled holes, slots, and cutouts, facilitating the seamless integration of boards, sensors, and servos.
With ingeniously notched sides, it accommodates two DC Gear 'TT' motors with ease. Simply secure each motor using four M3 or 4-40 screws approximately 24mm in length. Ball casters can easily be attached at either end, providing smooth navigation on multiple surfaces.
This chassis is ideal for constructing a durable and visually appealing medium-sized robot rover. It offers an expansive top platform, ready to host a variety of devices, such as Crickit, Raspberry Pi, or Jetson Nano. Additionally, its sturdy build ensures resilience against falls, keeping your project intact and operational.
Designed for flexibility, the chassis allows drilling and cutting for further customization. However, it is important to note that motors, wheels, motor drivers, and microcontrollers are not included, enabling personalized component selection for a tailored robotics project.
Recommended components to complete your robot body include two DC Gearbox 'TT' Motors, matching 'TT' Motor wheels, and a 20mm Height Metal Caster Bearing Wheel. You will also require a compatible microcontroller and motor driver, with options like the Adafruit DC Motor & Stepper Shield for Arduino, or the Adafruit DRV8833 DC Motor driver, to effectively drive your 5V DC motors.
