The MyoWare® 2.0 Muscle Sensor Development Kit is a comprehensive, Arduino-compatible electromyography (EMG) sensor kit. It includes all the boards from the MyoWare 2.0 ecosystem, allowing you to test various configurations for your application. With this kit, you can visualize muscle activity using the MyoWare 2.0 LED Shield or read the analog output with an Arduino-compatible microcontroller. The kit includes a MyoWare 2.0 Shield, EMG sensor pads, and a sensor for attachment to a muscle group.
Additional kit components include a mini screwdriver for easy shield removal, a USB A to C cable for recharging the 40mAh LiPo batteries or connecting your microcontroller to a computer, a MyoWare 2.0 Reference Cable for large muscle group connection, a sensor cable for distant muscle group connection, a 3.5mm TRS-to-TRS cable for easy connection to an Arduino-compatible development board using an Uno R3 footprint, and a RedBoard Plus.
The MyoWare 2.0 Muscle Sensor in this kit has been completely redesigned. It now features a user-friendly, compact design and an upgraded chipset for improved sensor performance and reliability. The sensor measures muscle activity through the electric potential of the muscle, also known as surface electromyography (EMG or sEMG). As you flex your muscle, the sensor analyzes the filtered and rectified electrical activity and outputs a signal representing the muscle flex intensity. The connection system eliminates the need for soldering, making it easy to visualize muscle activity with the MyoWare 2.0 LED Shield or read the analog output with an Arduino-compatible development board.
This kit is designed to follow standalone examples using the MyoWare 2.0 Power Shield and LED Shield. It can read the output voltage from a single muscle sensor using an Arduino-compatible microcontroller. For a basic setup without a microcontroller, consider the MyoWare 2.0 Muscle Sensor Basic Kit, which includes the bare minimum from the MyoWare 2.0 ecosystem for visualizing muscle activity without programming.
