This servo is just like our classic Micro Servo but includes 3 alligator clip test leads, making it perfect for plug-and-play support with boards like the Circuit Playground Express, Clue, and micro:bit. Its alligator clips allow you to 'gator right into the connector and start twisting effortlessly.
The tiny servo rotates approximately 180 degrees (90 in each direction) and is smaller than standard servos but retains similar functionality. Compatible with any servo code, hardware, or library, it is ideal for those aiming to make objects move without assembling a motor controller with feedback and gearbox. It seamlessly fits into small spaces, although it is not as strong as a standard servo.
Works great with the Motor Shield for Arduino or by wiring up with the Servo library. Comes with a few horns and hardware. To control with an Arduino, use the Servo library included with the Arduino IDE. Position "0" (1.5ms pulse) is the middle, "90" (~2ms pulse) is all the way to the right, and "-90" (~1ms pulse) is all the way to the left. For CircuitPython, consult this guide, and MakeCode also offers Servo support.
The 9cm-long 24AWG alligator cable is color-coded: Black for GND, Red for 5V, and White for Data. Note that the default servo pulse widths (usually 1ms to 2ms) may not provide a full 180-degree motion. Experiment with custom pulse lengths, like 0.75ms to 2.25ms, for greater flexibility. Attempting shorter or longer pulses might risk damaging the servo.
