The Maixduino AI development board, powered by the K210 RISC-V AI processor, offers a unique combination of advanced AI capabilities and seamless connectivity. At its core, the dual-core K210 processor, featuring an independent Floating Point Unit, provides robust computational power with 64-bit architecture, 8 MB of on-chip SRAM, and a flexible frequency of 400 MHz. This allows it to handle complex tasks like convolution, batch normalization, activation, and pooling seamlessly.
Equipped with neural network hardware accelerator KPU and voice processing unit APU, it also houses a programmable IO array and Fast Fourier Transform Accelerator. These features make it apt for a myriad of applications such as voice processing and smart technology deployments, ranging from smart home automation to medical devices and industrial purposes, among others.
The board's versatile wireless module, the ESP32-WROOM-32, extends its capabilities with dual-core ESP32 Xtensa LX6 processor and supports 2.4GHz WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2 LE connectivity, ensuring communication across devices. The Maixduino is further outfitted with a DVP camera connector, an LCD display connector, a built-in MEMS microphone, I2S audio DAC, a 3W power amplifier, and a USB 2.0 Type C port, which facilitates both powering and programming.
The included components, a Maixduino controller, a 2.4-inch LCD screen, and a GC0328 camera, allow for immediate exploration of its features. Compatibility with the Arduino UNO form factor offers ease of integration; however, special attention to voltage levels is necessary to prevent damage, as the Maixduino supports 3.3V and 1.8V but not 5V. Each pin bank can be individually set to a desired voltage level, providing flexibility for various applications.
