Luxonis OAK-D-IoT-40

The OAK-D-IoT-40 is a remarkable Embedded/IoT version of the OAK-D imaging platform by Sparkfun. Ideal for standalone use or via USB with a host, it includes a built-in ESP32, offering WiFi, Bluetooth® (including BLE), and other interfaces. The OAK-D-IoT-40 operates on the OAK-SOM-IoT system on module, enabling users to customize the device to their specific needs by leveraging its open-source designs. Also, it is equipped with the BNO085 IMU, supported in the DepthAI API.

The OAK-D-IoT-40 stands out with its 128MB NOR flash and boot-switch capabilities, allowing it to boot via USB or NOR-flash for communication with the onboard ESP32 over SPI. The package includes the OAK-SOM-IoT, a heatsink, a power adapter, and a USB 3 cable.

This device is equipped with a 12MP, 4K/60Hz color camera and two 720P/120Hz global-shutter mono cameras in a synchronized stereo pair. It operates on the MA2485 or MA2085 vision processor (with 512MB or 2GB), and includes a 100-pin modular connector with interfaces for 3x MIPI (1x 4-lane, 2x 2-lane), USB3, I2C/SPI/UART/GPIO (1.8V & 3.3V). The device also offers optional on-board NOR Flash or EEPROM storage.

One of the key features of the OAK-D-IoT-40 is its compatibility with OpenVINO and its Python and C++ API for configuring a combination of neural inference, stereo depth, feature tracking, video/image encoding, and actuation (e.g. GPIO drive). It operates on a single 5V or 3.3V power input and measures 40 x 30 x 6mm.
