The LilyPad Sewable Electronics Kit is a comprehensive package for anyone looking to delve into the realm of electronic sewing (e-sewing) and e-textiles. The kit is designed around the LilyPad system, allowing users to sew basic circuits to light up LEDs, control them with buttons and switches, and even tinker with a pre-programmed LilyMini circuit that responds to changes in light levels. The kit includes two LilyPad ProtoSnap boards for circuit exploration before sewing the components into a project, alongside LilyPad LEDs and battery holders.

The kit comes with a full-color guidebook containing step-by-step instructions on using the LilyPad pieces to create four complete sewable circuit projects with conductive thread. The guidebook is filled with easy-to-follow diagrams and troubleshooting tips, making it an ideal resource for beginners and creative enthusiasts.

LilyPad is a wearable technology, the brainchild of Dr. Leah Buechley and a collaborative design effort between Dr. Buechley and SparkFun. Each LilyPad component is designed with large sew tabs for easy integration into clothing. The range includes input, output, power, and sensor boards, and they are all washable. A part of the sale proceeds goes back to Dr. Buechley for continued development and education in e-textiles.
