Sparkfun's LIDAR-Lite v3 is a compact, lightweight optical distance measurement sensor from Garmin™, designed to fit tight spaces and weight requirements. This sensor is perfect for drone, robot, or unmanned vehicle applications.
The LIDAR-Lite v3 is a 40-meter laser-based optical ranging sensor that carries on the core features that made its predecessor, the LIDAR-Lite v2, popular. Despite its small size and light weight, this sensor has a low power consumption of less than 130mA during an acquisition. It also offers user-configurability, meaning you can adjust it for accuracy, operating range, and measurement time as per your requirements.
The LIDAR-Lite v3 features an edge-emitting, single-stripe laser transmitter that operates at 905nm (1.3 watts), 4 m Radian x 2 m Radian beam divergence, and an optical aperture of 12.5mm. This third version still operates at 5V DC and has a current consumption rate of less than 100mA at continuous operation. The sensor can be interfaced via I
2C or PWM with the included 200mm accessory cable.
Please note that the LIDAR-Lite v3 is a CLASS 1 LASER PRODUCT CLASSIFIED EN/IEC 60825-1 2014. This product conforms with performance standards for laser products under 21 CFR 1040, except for those characteristics authorized by Variance Number FDA-2016-V-2943 effective September 27, 2016.
The LIDAR-Lite v3 measures 20 x 48 x 40 mm and offers the following features:
- Range: 0-40m Laser Emitter
- Accuracy: +/- 2.5cm at distances greater than 1m
- Power: 4.75--5V DC; 6V Max
