GPS Receiver - LS20031 5Hz (66 Channel)

The LS20031 GPS Receiver is a comprehensive GPS smart antenna receiver that incorporates an embedded antenna and GPS receiver circuits. This cost-effective unit delivers an impressive amount of position data five times per second. The receiver utilizes the reliable technology found in LOCOSYS 66 channel GPS SMD type receivers that employ MediaTek chip solution.

The GPS smart antenna can simultaneously track up to 66 satellites, offering a swift time-to-first-fix, one-second navigation update, and low power consumption. It provides exceptional sensitivity and performance even in urban canyon and dense foliage environments. Its capabilities are aligned with the sensitivity requirements of car navigation as well as other location-based applications.

The datasheet for this unit mentions that the update rate can be configured up to 10Hz, but it has been found to be most reliable at the default rate of 5Hz. The recent version of this module employs the MT3339 MTK chipset. The unit does not include a connector, but there are 5 bare pads that can be soldered to.

While hacking can be exciting, caution is advised when deciding to flash some 3rd party firmware to this module. If the 3rd party firmware damages your device, according to the manufacturer, you'll have to handle it yourself!
