GPS Embedded Antenna SMA

Sparkfun's GPS Embedded Antenna SMA is a compact, high-performance antenna ideal for small, mobile applications. This barebones antenna comes with a Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) and a 12.7cm cable, terminated with a standard male SMA connector. The antenna can be paired with any SMA interface cable, making it perfect for creating small GPS prototypes.

While this antenna performs excellently out of the box, for applications involving intense vibrations, it is recommended to reinforce the connection where the SMA cable meets the antenna housing. This can be achieved using epoxy or Shoe Goo to provide better strain relief.

The GPS Embedded Antenna SMA offers a gain of 26dB and a Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) of less than 2.0. It operates at a voltage of 3.3V +/- 0.5V and a current of 12mA. Despite these impressive features, the antenna maintains a lightweight design, weighing only 18g.
