Fingerprint Scanner - TTL (GT-521F52)

The Sparkfun GT-521F52 Fingerprint Scanner is a revolutionary biometric device, designed for seamless integration into your projects. With an onboard optical sensor and a 32-bit ARM Cortex M3 processor, this module takes the hassle out of fingerprint reading and identification. It communicates over TTL Serial, making it incredibly user-friendly and easy to implement.

The GT-521F52 Fingerprint Scanner module simplifies the fingerprint registration process. All you need to do is send the corresponding command and press your finger against the reader thrice. It can store a variety of fingerprints, and the database can be downloaded and shared across multiple modules. You can retrieve not only the fingerprint template but also the raw images and the fingerprint image from the optical sensor.

Upgraded from the GT-521F32 model, this module can store up to 3,000 unique fingerprints. It is capable of 360° fingerprint recognition and can download and upload templates using a serial interface. The GT-521Fxx series features a resolution of 450dpi, with an impressive false acceptance rate of <0.001% and a false rejection rate of <0.1%. It identifies a unique fingerprint in less than 1.5 seconds!

The GT-521F52 module is compact and easy to mount, with four mounting holes surrounding the sensor. It features a JST-SH connector with four signals: Vcc, GND, Tx, and Rx. Although it has the same connector used on Qwiic boards, it is not Qwiic or I²C compatible. However, all Qwiic cables will work with this board.

The GT-521F52 Fingerprint Scanner offers a range of features, including simple UART & USB communication protocol, compliance with USB 2.0 full-speed specification, and an ultra-thin optical sensor. It has a resolution of 450 dpi, can recognize fingerprints 360°, and can store up to 3,000 unique fingerprints. It also has a Wake up on Finger Function and works well with dry, moist, or rough fingerprints. The scanner is anti-scratch with a surface hardness of ≧ 5H and offers 1:1 verification and 1:N identification. It utilizes high-accuracy and high-speed fingerprint identification technology and has 4x mounting holes and 2x JST SH connectors.
