Fermion: TMF8801 ToF Distance Ranging Sensor (20-2500mm) (Breakout)

The TMF8801 is a time-of-flight distance ranging sensor designed to measure distances by analyzing the time difference between light pulses. It offers reliable single-zone detection regardless of the object's color, reflectivity, or texture. With its high dynamic range, it accurately senses measurements between 2 and 250 centimeters. This sensor maintains precision within ±5%, functioning effectively in both dark environments and sunlight.

Featuring a built-in histogram, the TMF8801 delivers dynamic cover glass calibration, crosstalk compensation, and reduces background light noise using on-chip sunlight rejection filters. This makes it highly suitable for various ambient lighting conditions. Its I2C fast-mode communications interface allows efficient data output, while an integrated microcontroller, complete with pre-loaded algorithms, eliminates the need for external optical components.
