The BeagleBone Black Rev C is a compact embedded computer, boasting a powerful 1GHz AM3358 processor and 512MB of DDR3 RAM, perfect for a multitude of projects. Its sleek design can even fit in a mint tin. This model features 4GB of eMMC storage, doubling from the previous Rev B version.
Outfitted with Debian Linux pre-installed, the Rev C offers a user-friendly interface, responding to requests from tech enthusiasts. Key hardware includes two 46-pin headers, micro HDMI for seamless audio/video, and extended USB capabilities. The 10/100 Ethernet ensures reliable connectivity.
Despite its PCB labeled as Rev B, this model is indeed the enhanced Rev C, with substantial memory upgrades. The flexibility of open board architecture allows installation of other Linux-based OS such as Ubuntu or Android.
Accessories compatibility is in the works, yet an enclosure, a 5V 2A power supply, and a micro-HDMI cable are recommended additions. For headless operation, consider using a USB console cable, as Rev C lacks an onboard USB-to-Serial converter unlike its predecessor.
