BBC Doctor Who HiFive Inventor Kit (Coding Kit)

The Sparkfun BBC Doctor Who HiFive Inventor Kit is a captivating coding kit that combines the thrill of the Doctor Who series with the educational power of coding. This kit allows children to explore a variety of exciting lessons such as controlling a robot, inventing alien musical instruments, wirelessly piloting an alien spaceship, and even building an intergalactic weather station. The kit is narrated by Jodie Whittaker, the voice of the thirteenth Doctor, making the learning experience even more engaging.

The HiFive Inventor, a hand-shaped mini-computer, is the heart of the kit. It is designed to teach kids how to control robots and interface with IoT-enabled systems using the on-board espressif ESP32-SOLO-1. The kit is a result of a partnership between the BBC, Tynker, and SiFive, and it utilizes the free and open-source RISC-V instruction set architecture.
