The Adafruit RGB Matrix HAT seamlessly turns your Raspberry Pi Model Zero/A+/B+/Pi 2/3/Pi 4 into a vibrant LED display controller. Simply plug in power, connect an IDC cable, and use Python code to create colorful scrolling displays or mini LED walls. Please note that the current matrix driving software does not support the Pi 5.
Features include power protection circuitry against negative and over/under-voltages, onboard level shifters for clean matrix driving, and a DS1307 Real Time Clock for maintaining time even across reboots. This HAT supports HUB75-type RGB matrices and allows daisy-chaining for larger displays, up to a recommended 64x128 pixels.
No soldering is required, and it works with any 16x32, 32x32, 32x64, or 64x64 RGB LED Matrices with HUB75 connections. The package includes a PCB with all parts assembled and a riser for the 2x20 connector. Note that a CR1220 coin cell and 5V power supply are not included. A tutorial with schematics and Python library is available to simplify setup and usage.
