This Adafruit OV5640 Camera Breakout with a 72-degree lens and autofocus combines advanced imaging with simplicity. The 5 Megapixel sensor ensures high-quality captures, while the 72-degree non-distorting lens offers clarity.
Designed for effortless interfacing, this breakout board is backwards compatible and features a standard 2x9 header, along with a duplicated header strip placed 0.3" apart for easy integration into breadboards or perfboards.
Select between external or internal 24MHz "XCLK" clock generation for stable performance. A heat-sinking camera area with an exposed ground pad and multiple vias provides excellent thermal management, reducing thermal image drift during continuous encoding.
For auto-focusing camera modules, an optional VMotor 3.3V power jumper is available, and a 3.3V power-good LED can be disabled as needed. Note that utilizing the autofocus feature requires loading a new firmware binary over I2C and shorting the VM jumper for supplying power on DATA1.
Control the autofocus system through I2C commands to ensure precision and accuracy in your captures. This module functions seamlessly with any OV5640 sensor, elevating your projects to the next level.
