The PQ12 series of micro linear actuators from Sparkfun is the perfect solution for applications that require precision and compactness. With a weight of only 22 grams, and being the most powerful actuator of its size, the PQ12 series is highly sought after by OEM manufacturers and Arduino and RC hobbyists. Its use spans various industries such as prosthetics, robotics, medical, and simulation.
The PQ12-R series of linear servos operate as a direct replacement for standard rotary servos. They use the same standard 3 wire connector, ground power, and control. The PQ12-R servo can function in place of a regular servo, providing linear motion. The PQ12-R is available in a 20mm stroke with gear ratio options of 30:1, 63:1 and 100:1, covering a wide range of applications.
The PQ12-100-6-R model features a 100:1 gear ratio for maximum lifting force, a 6VDC operating voltage, and a servo (PWM) interface. This small yet powerful actuator can lift up to 50N (~5kg). Although the datasheet does not specify a minimum operating voltage, testing has shown that this actuator works fine at 5VDC, albeit with reduced maximum force and movement speed.
The package includes the PQ12-100-6-R Micro-Actuator and a mounting hardware kit.
