SparkFun Micro OLED Breakout (Qwiic)

Description Links Attachments

The SparkFun Qwiic Micro OLED Breakout is a high-quality, Qwiic-enabled version of the popular Micro OLED display. The compact, monochrome, blue-on-black OLED screen delivers incredibly clear images. Although it's small, it's capable of displaying a surprisingly large amount of graphics. It's ideal for adding graphics to your project or displaying diagnostic information without needing a serial output. The Qwiic Connect System ensures it's easy to use.

The Micro OLED Breakout is the same size as its non-Qwiic counterpart, with a screen that is 64 pixels wide and 48 pixels tall, measuring 1.68 cm across. It's been equipped with two Qwiic connectors, making it perfect for I2C operations. There are also two mounting holes and a Qwiic cable holder incorporated into a detachable tab on the board that can be easily removed due to a v-scored edge. The board also includes an I2C pull-up jumper and ADDR jumper, giving you flexibility if you have your own I2C pull-ups or need to change the I2C address of the board.

The Micro OLED's I2C address is 0x3D and can be selected to 0x3C via a jumper. If you need to communicate with multiple Micro OLED sensors on a single bus, a multiplexer/Mux is required. To use more than one Micro OLED sensor, consider using the Qwiic Mux Breakout.

The SparkFun Qwiic Connect System is a comprehensive ecosystem of I2C sensors, actuators, shields, and cables designed to make prototyping faster and less error-prone. All Qwiic-enabled boards use a common 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector, which reduces the amount of required PCB space and ensures you can't connect it incorrectly due to polarized connections.

Features of the SparkFun Qwiic Micro OLED Breakout include Qwiic-Connector Enabled, an operating voltage of 3.3V, an operating current of 10mA (20mA max), a screen size of 64x48 pixels (1.68 cm across), monochrome blue-on-black, and an I2C interface.

Supporting documents, including the schematic, Eagle Files, Hookup Guide, datasheet (SSD1306), Fritzing Part, Arduino Library (Micro OLED Breakout and Qwiic OLED), Qwiic Micro OLED Python Package, Qwiic Info Page, and GitHub Hardware Repo, are available for further information and guidance.
