smôl Power Board AAA

The Sparkfun smôl Power Board AAA is an intelligent and compact power board, designed to be both small in size and low on current draw. It is equipped with a TPS61200 regulator, typically used to boost the voltage from one or two AAA or AA cells up to 3.3V. What sets this board apart is the inclusion of an AVR ATtiny43 microcontroller, which allows it to control the 3.3V power for the entire smôl stack. This means that the processor board can instruct the power board to put the entire smôl stack into deep sleep for a pre-defined interval, ranging from tens of milliseconds to several days. When in deep sleep, the current draw is reduced to a mere 12µA, potentially extending your battery life to months rather than days.

The smôl Power Board AAA is part of the smôl ecosystem, a range of miniature processor boards, peripheral boards, power boards and accessories. These boards are designed to stack one on top of the other, using 16-way 0.5mm-pitch Flexible Printed Circuits (FPCs) to provide the interconnect from one board to the next.
