QSeanCan you confirm the chip is the SR04M (any version variant). Should be a dumb question but have received variations of the SR04T from other suppliers. I haven't been able to get the SR04T chip to work in my application but the SR04M consistently functions fine. I've struggled to determine the reason why as the actual sensors seem interchangeable though the chips aren't. This problem was very frustrating to troubleshoot and ultimately wasn't fixable with my abilities. AAquaponics.ioI have this sensor too, and I am now on the site to order a few more. For me the minimum measuring range is approximately 21-22 cm, if I go closer then the output is very random or I get an out of range message. So I think the minimum measuring range is around 21 cm. Good luck!

AOpencircuitThat is very dependent on the interference, the quality and impedance of the cable. Since it is a digital signal, there is a bit more margin, but I would keep a maximum of 1 or 2 meters. If the data has to travel a greater distance, it is wiser to send it via a network cable or wireless.
