SparkFun Thing Plus - SAMD51

The SparkFun Thing Plus - SAMD51 is a powerful and compact microcontroller board, equipped with a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4F MCU. It's one of the most potent boards in Sparkfun's line-up, designed to give you maximum power in a minimal space. The board comes pre-flashed with the UF2 bootloader, similar to the RedBoard Turbo, making it easy to get up and running. A few pins have been rearranged for Feather compatibility, and the board incorporates the Qwiic Connect System, eliminating the need for soldering or shields when connecting it to your system.

The SAMD51 Thing Plus is powered by the ATSAMD51J20, a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 processor with a Floating Point Unit (FPU). It boasts a speed of up to 120MHz, up to 1MB of flash memory, up to 256KB of SRAM with ECC, and up to 6 SERCOM interfaces among other features. The board also provides a 600mA 3.3V regulator and LiPo charger, in addition to the USB interface and Qwiic connection.

The SparkFun Qwiic Connect System is a revolutionary ecosystem of I²C sensors, actuators, shields, and cables that simplify and accelerate prototyping while reducing errors. All Qwiic-enabled boards use a common 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector, which minimizes the required PCB space and ensures correct connections thanks to its polarized design.

The SparkFun Thing Plus - SAMD51 offers a multitude of features. It incorporates the Atmel ATSAMD51J20 MCU, which provides up to six available 12-bit ADC channels, up to twenty-one 24-bit PWM outputs, a single hardware UART, a single SPI Bus, and a single I²C Bus. The board follows the Thing Plus (or Feather) Form-Factor, with dimensions of 5.84cm x 2.29cm. It also includes four mounting holes compatible with 4-40 screws, 28 PTH Pins, a micro-B USB Connector, a 2-pin JST Connector for a LiPo Battery (not included), and a 4-pin JST Qwiic Connector. The board also includes LEDs for battery charging indication and status/test, a reset button, 4Mb QSPI Flash Memory, and SWD Pins and Test Points.
